St. Clair Software releases Default Folder X 4.2 – Adds OpenMeta Tagging

St. Clair Software today announced the release of Default Folder X 4.2. Default Folder X enhances the file dialogs in all Mac OS X applications. Custom keyboard shortcuts put your favorite and recent folders at your fingertips. Pop-up menus let you navigate your folders and open Finder windows. Version 4.2 adds OpenMeta tagging, improves Default Folder X's "Rebound" feature, and improves compatibility with Snow Leopard and Adobe Acrobat.

St. Clair Software has announced the immediate availability of Default Folder X 4.2. This release adds OpenMeta tagging, as well as improving the compatibility and feature set of our award-winning utility for enhancing Open and Save dialogs. Awarded Macworld Magazine’s Editors’ Choice Award for Best System Enhancement Utility, Default Folder X makes Open and Save dialogs “work the way they should.” It enhances the file dialogs in all Mac OS X applications, making them work as quickly as you do.

Custom keyboard shortcuts put your favorite and recent folders at your fingertips. Pop-up menus let you navigate your folders and open Finder windows. Previews and Spotlight comments and tags are there when you need them. Open, save, and get back to work: Default Folder X is workflow for the rest of us.

What’s New:
Default Folder X 4.2 is a free update that now helps users tag files and folders using the emerging OpenMeta standard. This delivers true support for tagging in Spotlight and compatibility with a number of third party tagging applications, such as Tags, Fresh, and Tag Folders. This release also offers additional AppleScript support, improvements to Default Folder X’s “Rebound” feature, and compatibility fixes for Acrobat Pro and MacTheRipper. Default Folder X 4.2 is a free update for users who purchased a license or upgrade on or after June 1, 2007. The upgrade is $14.95 (USD) for users who bought their licenses before that date, and $34.95 (USD) for new users.
