MangaBlade 1.0 – Manga Reader Built for iPad

Kniveswood Studios today announced the release of MangaBlade for Apple iPad, a full-featured manga and comic book viewer that combines a user interface designed specifically for iPad, seamless integration with online manga catalogs, and the ability to import your own manga. MangaBlade features a bookshelf interface for browsing through the hundreds of beautiful manga cover art. It uses familiar controls for zooming, panning, and flipping through manga. Tilt the iPad and MangaBlade automatically switches between portrait and landscape mode. Cover Flow feature allows users to browse and quickly find the pages they need. A brightness control allows manga to be read comfortably in the dark.

Built-in web browser allows users to download manga from MangaBlade’s online catalog, or any website offering them in supported formats. New titles are added to the online catalog everyday. It currently features over 150 popular titles, all of which can be downloaded onto the iPad at no additional cost. Downloaded manga can be read offline without any WiFi, 3G, or EDGE connection, making it perfect for commuters and travelers.

Users with their own collection of manga or comics can import them into MangaBlade via iTune’s USB File Sharing feature.
